THE MOTH
This short film was be shown at the Bora Laskin Faculy of Law on July 3, 2025. It was created by Michelle Derosier and Zoe Gordon. The film premiered recently at the ImagineNATIVE film festival.
About the film (from ImagineNATIVE):
"It's 2039 in Omagakii First Nation. The land has been consumed by lithium mines and 100,000 tonnes of buried nuclear waste. An Ogichidaa-Kwe survives in isolation, loving and resisting as the world sickens around her."
The film was followed by a panel discussion about the proposed nuclear waste disposal site in Northwestern Ontario.
