Freshwater Heroes Award
Environment North was one of the 2022 Freshwater Hero recipients. This award is in recognition of efforts to protect and restore the health of the lakes, rivers, wetlands and shorelines of the Great Lakes. Board member Dodie LeGassick participated in the online presentation. A recording of the event will be available soon.
In 2022, Environment North received a project grant from Freshwater Future to support our efforts. From the Freshwater Future Newsletter Winter Edition Issue 3,
"Concerns around the threat to waters spurred Environment North in Canada to work on improving decision making around the safe transportation and handling of nuclear waste."
