Dryden Nuclear Forum

On September 28 and 29, 2022 the Dryden Nuclear Education and Engagement Committee (DNEEC) presented a forum on nucear waste disposal.

Expert Panel members include Kerrie Blaise from the Canadian Environmental Law Association and Brennain Lloyd from We the Nuclear Free North.

There are currently two locations that may become disposal sites for Canada's high level radioactive nuclear waste, the Revell Lake area (between Dryden and Ignace) and another in southwestern Ontario. The waste has been generated by nuclear power stations and is currently stored at the power stations most of which are in southern Ontario.

Question topics include governance, risks to water and transportation of waste.
