APTN Investigates has produced a 2-part investigational piece, "Nuclear Courtship," on potential disposal of high-level nuclear waste in Northwestern Ontario, and indigenous concerns surrounding this.
From APTN's promo: "The nuclear industry has a problem: where to put its radioactive waste? The industry's proposed solution is to put much of it deep underground in the Canadian shield. But will the First Nations communities they're courting allow it?"
In Part 2, Environment North Board member Dodie LeGassick is interviewed about some of Environment North's concerns re: the Nuclear Waste Management Organization’s plans for a deep geological repository for ALL of Canada’s high-level nuclear waste in Northwestern Ontario.
