NUCLEAR WASTE IN NORTHWESTERN ONTARIO – WHY WE SHOULD BE CONCERNED

The NWMO, the Nuclear Waste Management Organization, has narrowed their site selection process to five communities: three in northern Ontario.

The five sites are Ignace area, Manitouwadge area, Hornepayne area in northern Ontario and Huron-Kinloss and South Bruce in southern Ontario.

Please attend this presentation by Dodie Legassick, a board member of Environment North, and learn about the plans for nuclear waste disposal and why we should be concerned.  Ignace and area is one of the sites being examined by the NWMO.  If selected trucks with high-level nuclear waste could regularly be travelling through the Thunder Bay area?

Rosslyn Community Centre, March 28 at 7 pm.
