Comments regarding the Renewal Water Management Plan for the Nipigon River System Environment North submitted comments to the Renewable Energy Planner for the Nipigon District concerning the renewal water management plan for the Nipigon River System which includes a proposal to build a two hydroelectric power generation stations on the Little Jackfish producing 100 Megawatts of electricity. Initial concerns are related to the determination of normal water flow conditions. June 6, 2010

Test drilling was underway in Atikokan, with support by some local businesses but major opposition was expressed by people in Atikokan and other communities along proposed transportation routes.
